Sweeney Attends Rowan College Veterans Day Celebration

SEWELL –Senate President Steve Sweeney today attended a Veterans Day Celebration at Rowan College at Gloucester County, hosted by the college’s Student Veterans Organization and Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

“Those who serve in our armed forces put their lives on the line to protect our freedom and safety here at home,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude, and their selfless courage is an inspiring example for all of us. It is an honor to be a part of this beautiful ceremony honoring all that veterans do for our country, and all of the sacrifices they have made.”

“We really appreciate Senator Sweeney joining us today and even more than that we appreciate all that he has done to address the concerns of veterans in the state,” said Gloucester County Freeholder Deputy Director Giuseppe “Joe” Chila.

Gloucester County’s annual Veterans Day celebration featured music by the Camden County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, remarks by veterans and the presentation of the G.O.L.D. Club Veteran Award.
